When to set up your wedding registry
Set up your wedding registry about four to six months before the wedding, and have it ready before you send save-the-dates or invitations. Guests who are invited to showers or engagement parties will look for it early.
Keep adding items as the date gets closer. Some guests buy right away, others the week before. A registry that still has choices at every price is easier for everyone.
What to put on a wedding registry
Start with what you’ll use every day: good knives, a Dutch oven, bedding, towels, glasses. Then add things that make your home feel like yours: a piece from a local ceramicist, a print, a vintage lamp found online.
Experiences fit too. A cooking class, a museum membership or part of your honeymoon can be added as a gift that guests fund together. Write a short note so guests know what their contribution goes to.
Already live together and have the basics? Focus on upgrades, hobbies and shared projects: a camping tent, a record player, a garden bench.
Talk about the list together before you start. Agree on a style, a few must-haves and what you’d rather skip, so the registry feels like both of you and not just whoever had the free evening.
How many gifts and which price ranges
Plan for about one and a half to two gifts per invited household. Guests like having options, and late shoppers shouldn’t be left with only the most expensive items.
Spread the list across budgets: items under $30 for coworkers and younger guests, a strong middle range between $30 and $100, and a handful of larger gifts over $100 that groups or close family can fund together.
How to share your registry without awkwardness
The most natural place is your wedding website or the details card that comes with your invitation. A simple line works: “Your presence is the best gift. If you’d like to celebrate us with something more, here is our registry.”
Prefer cash for a down payment or the honeymoon? Set your preference to money and display your PayPal.me, Wero or Lydia link or your IBAN. Guests see it, contribute what they like, and the money arrives directly with you. Seizenn never handles it.

Common questions
When should we create our wedding registry?
Four to six months before the wedding is a good target. Have it ready before invitations go out, since guests often look for the registry as soon as they receive them.
How many items should be on a wedding registry?
Aim for one and a half to two gifts per invited household, across several price ranges. That way, guests who shop late still find something that fits their budget.
Can we ask for cash or honeymoon funds?
Yes. Add the honeymoon or a project as a gift and let guests chip in any amount. The money goes straight to you through the link or IBAN you display, and Seizenn takes no fees.
Can we add gifts from small shops and local makers?
Yes. Any product with a link can go on your registry, from big retailers to independent makers and secondhand listings. If details don’t load automatically, you fill them in yourself.
Do guests need to create an account?
No. Guests open your link and reserve a gift without an account. With a free account, you can also choose to require one for reservations if you want more control.
Can both of us manage the same registry?
With a free account, your registry is saved and accessible from all your devices. Sign in with the same account on each phone or laptop to manage it together.
Another occasion?
Seizenn lets you create a gift list for any occasion: wishes from any shop, one link to share, free and ad-free.
